Apple the next gaming giant?

 Xbox Project Founder:
Game-Enabled Apple TV Would Crush The Competition

(by Akshay Masand)

Writing on his own personal blog, Nat Brown, the founder and self-proclaimed namer of Microsoft’s original Xbox project, mentioned Apple could quickly come to dominate the gaming sector if the company decided to add gaming capabilities to its Apple TV set top box or the continually rumored Apple HDTV. Brown continued by saying that Microsoft and other traditional console makers such as Sony failed to understand and capitalize on the potential for living room connected devices. According to him, Xbox’s primary critical problem:

"...is the lack of a functional and growing platform ecosystem for small developers to sell digitally network distributed (non-disc) content through to the installed base of Xbox customers, period. Why can't I write a game for Xbox tomorrow using $100 worth of tools and my existing Windows laptop and test it on my home xBox or at my friends' houses? Why can't I then distribute it digitally in a decent online store... like I can for Android or iPhone, or for iPad?"

He continued by pointing out that Microsoft’s developer program for its console requires “$10,000/year and a ton of paperwork, with Microsoft holding veto power over your game.” Apple in turn according to him is perfectly positioned to shake up the gaming sector if it decides to bring games to its Apple TV device. The company’s existing developer framework would make it easy to attract small developers.

According to Brown:

"Apple, if it chooses to do so, will simply kill Playstation, Wii-U, and xBox by introducing an open 30%-cut app/game ecosystem for Apple-TV... I will be the first to write apps for Apple-TV when I can, and I know I'll make money. I would for xBox if I could and I knew I would make money."

If all of this sounds a tad bit familiar, that’s because it is as Brown isn’t the first established name in the gaming industry to state that Apple is poised to make a big impact in gaming if it chose to do so, Valve cofounder and software engineer, Gabe Newell, also shared similar thoughts in late January. We’ll have to wait and see if Apple takes the cue and walks down that path.

Samsung Galaxy S3 MSL / SPC How To

Here is how I read the MSL/SPC on the Galaxy S3.

First make sure its stock unrooted. I have not tried it on a rooted device.

Lets get started:

Dial *#7284# and choose the last option. It should day DM+ADB+MTP I believe.

Then connect your phone and wait for the drivers to install etc...

Next dial ##3282# and choose edit.

Download the ADB.zip folder in the attachments.

Extract and open ADB Command.bat

Then type: adb devices

Make sure you get a serial

Then type adb shell

Now go back to the S3 and when you chose edit it should ask for the MSL.

Type in 123456 you should get an error and when you do go back to Command prompt.

Type in:

getprop ril.MSL

Then hit enter. You should get your MSL/SPC code.

If not then maybe your phone's AndOS is too new.

iPhone 5 / 4S / 4 / 3G / 3GS Net10 Internet & MMS Settings

Hey guys with the new jailbreak MMS is finally available.

You need to be Jailbroken before you proceed with the settings.

If you haven't jailbroken the iPhone do it now.

Go to www.Evasi0n.com and choose your operating system and continue with the JailBreak.

I suggest that before you begin the jailbreak that you first backup your phone and update it to the latest iOS which will be 6.1 for iPhone 3Gs-iP5.

Then continue with the jailbreak. There are instructions on their site if you need help. Don't ask me as I am not the one who made the tool.

------------------

Ok so we have that done lets continue.

Open Cydia, the new app installed from the jailbreak and add a new source.

Go to Manage / Sources / Edit / Add

Then type:

http://repo.insanelyi.com/

Choose add anyways.

Next search for TetherMe

Make sure its the one from insanelyi

Once you have this done make sure to remove any profiles installed on the iPhone.

If you don't your MMS can break and wont always work.

To remove any profiles or to check if any are installed go to Settings / General and scroll down to the bottom. If you don't see a tab that says profile then you are good to go. If you do click it and uninstall it.

Now go back to settings scroll down and select TetherMe

Then if APN Selection is set to automatic uncheck that. But make sure useDataAPN is on.

Next choose Cellular Data Network

Make sure the settings are like this:
